That story about the lady in the ER is why I haven't gone to the ER despite having suffered a rather severe concussion a week and a half ago. I'm doing a lot of reading and researching into symptoms and warning signs, and I've had a couple before so I know how it goes and what doctors can generally do for it (nothing), but I hit the threshold yesterday for when I should probably go in just to be sure and I'm not going to unless it gets markedly worse from here (it is starting to get a little better). I don't know how these motherfuckers expect us to trust them or keep living like this forever, if they just flex their power now because they have it and can or if they're trying to mop up all the scraps before their inevitable collapse, but the fact is they're living wrong and they know it, and it's the rest of us who suffer.
dude, came to the comments to post that exact line. jesus christ, piggies, i know math is scary since you're all the dumbest guys from your respective high schools but c'mon
An autopsy ruled Danny Carrillo’s death a homicide, listing the cause as “sudden cardiac death during restraint procedures.” He is one of more than 1,100 people who have died in jail custody across Texas since 2010. Last year, the Texas Commission on Jail Standards (TCJS), which regulates county jails, counted 124 deaths, the highest number since the agency started recording them in 2009.

“Since they begin counting in 2009” what the fuck.

Unbelievable (totally believable) that they didn’t *count* how many people died in prison before that.
