Well Jesus I’ve been paying Navient $1100 a month for several years now and I just figured I’d keep paying that until the cows come home. Luckily I’m in a job where I can afford it under the Direct Parent loan program.... and I thought my financial burden was all my responsibility anyway for agreeing to take on the debt rather than let it fall on my two daughters. I’d still make that choice actually. The big ethical issue for me is, why does tuition cost so much more for this generation than it did for me and my peers? The quality of a good education hasn’t changed in 40 years; the price tag has.
