The general didn’t make the decision on his own, though honesty partially reclaims his soul. Who contributed intel??

Cease the immediate arrogance and cocksurety when origins and outcomes are in question. These drone attack ‘go’ decisions will never be reliable enough to take another chance of allowing these horrific civilian casualties. Being physically removed from the visceral effects of wanton destruction makes continuation all the easier, no surprises. Virtual vs actual damage…make the perpetrators visit the devastation. Loss of empathy leads us to lose the capacity for restraint.

What I like most about your writing is you go where I am afraid to tread. If I were to say that killing civilians is bad, many would agree. If I say, we should stop all drone strikes, many people would argue that compromises US troops. I have active military officers in my immediate family. I am aware that the US is in a huge arms trade business, and we (US citizens) don't realize or care. The US military is a very wonderous and mighty business and their main objective is to keep spending our tax dollars on weapons, to kill, or to sell. The notion that all these weapons protects us and troops is not the complete picture. I am interested to learn more and if there is any way to make this stop. Do you know of any journalist that are pursing this topic?

not sure if you sub to discontents https://discontents.substack.com/ my other thing by Kelsey Atherton's Wars of Future Past https://athertonkd.substack.com/ is about military weapons and technology. Spencer Ackerman's Forever Wars is probably relevant too https://foreverwars.substack.com/
