It seems unlikely 45 will leave peaceably. He's got too many crimes hanging over his head. Maybe it's just my own ignorance, but the only thing I've seen resembling a plan for that is a color revolution. Armed peacekeepers could keep police from brutalizing protesters and keep the militias / klan / "regime-allied thugs" from even showing their faces, if current protests are any indication.
Of course a color revolution requires ground work that Democrats won't undertake because they seem to have confused the obligations of leaders to build, use, and defend strong safeguards with pretending the current safeguards are strong. Meanwhile Nadler can't even get Barr to appear before Congress and refuse to answer questions...
Maybe there's a better way. But when I see 45s immense backlog of crimes, attacks on election legitimacy, and eagerness to use federal force on citizens, I can't see how we get out of this without direct confrontation and military intervention on behalf of the citizens.
