Thanks for another great one, Luke. Really loved reading about April 14th. Gillian Welch is one of my favorite songwriters/musicians. When I read your stuff it always reminds me of other songs, too. This time, Joanna Newsom's "Jackrabbits"
I was tired of being drunk
My face cracked like a joke
So I swung through here like a brace of jackrabbits
The image of Pete Rose doing a flyover in Vegas to salute gamblers is the first time I have laughed in two days, and I thank you for that. I hope someone in Iceland reads that joke and lawls at it
I look forward to you showing up. A bright literary spot in my days/daze.
Hot tip, literary non fiction, "Until the End of Time"
Brian Greene
A flyover or a big fat raise, which would they prefer?
If I hear "thank you for your service" when this passes I'll scream.
Or a grocery worker singing the Star Spangled Banner on opening day.
Oy vey. Spare me.
Keep 'em comin'
Another standout read. The mention of David Berman got me.
